The Bluebells' Dance

Pic by Pixerella.

Awakened by the call of birds at dawn,
I follow quietly their lovely song
to misty forests hiding in the morn
where darkness lingers, but does not belong.

From far, I spy a captivating glow;
a bluish hue the trees try to conceal.
Then from the distance, as the cold winds blow,
a million dainty bells begin to peal.

A wonderland beneath the blue spring sky
where thrushes sing a melody so gay,
the bluebells dance, with their skirts wafting high,
in wild abandon as they bob and sway.

Delightful memories of it remain;
I have to wait till spring to see again.

I've found it! I've found it!

Pic by Lee Siu Wei.

I have found it! After so many years of searching, I have finally found it! Or maybe, it found me.

You see, my second daughter recently took a trip to Iceland. It was very cold and there were only 4 hours of daylight a day but they enjoyed themselves thoroughly. In fact, they think it is their best holiday so far (her friends and she go on a short holiday every December).

In Iceland, they were riding through the snow, watching geysers, admiring waterfalls and scaling the glaziers when one evening (or is it morning?) they chanced upon the ends of the rainbow! They were amazed and excited and took some photos. So now, I have booked my plane ticket to Iceland with the exact locations of the ends of the rainbows locked in my mind.

It is a good thing that my daughter and her friends do not know that at the ends of the rainbow lie two huge pots of gold!

I am sorry but I have to be secretive about my trip. If word leaks out, it may spark a gold rush as wild as that of the Klondike or, the Iceland government may impose some kind of mining tax or other to get a share of my fortune.

I have got to go now. When I return, I shall be a very rich man!

In the dark

Pic by Lee Swee Wei

Listen ……..
with little puffs
like a departing train,
the wind chases away the moon
tonight.

Softly ………
like wisps of mist
lingering in the hills
memories of you inundate
my mind
and touch me affectionately
like you did in those days
so long ago;
I weep.

Bygones!
Bygones should remain as bygones,
but the heavy silence
allows them in ………
till dawn.

Hazy Morning

This picture was taken about a week ago at a village called Aulong located at the outskirts of Taiping. We were heading there for breakfast and to do a little marketing. Every year during the hot and dry season, the farmers in Sumatra set fire to the jungles there so that they can plant their crops after that. Unfortunately, the smoke from these fires is blown over to our country.
